During the Fall 2017 semester, I actually enjoyed taking English 1A because I liked the how the topics were relevant to what's going on in the world. I learned about the imperfections in society and in the government and how turning a blind eye is dangerous. I also learned new and unique writing styles from the book, They Say/ I Say. I learned how to frame a quote by introducing the source and author, giving background information, and analyzing it. Framing a quote helped me construct a sharp and smooth paper that had a more consistent flow. Altogether, it was a helpful tool that Mrs. King taught us and I could see myself utilizing the tool in the future. During this semester, I enjoyed reading the Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. I liked how the book wasn't like the typical school books that the teacher made you read. It was different and I found myself wanting to read more. In the future, I would like to transfer to a 4 year public university or state school. My options right now are: University of Nevada: Reno, San Jose State, or University of California: Santa Cruz. I am unsure if I want to get a degree in biology or nursing, however, I am leaning more towards pursuing a biology degree than applying to a medical technician program.
